In the past, it was tricky to share ChatGPT conversations. You had to take screenshots or copy and paste the content. OpenAI has now introduced a new feature called Shared Links for ChatGPT. This feature makes it easy for users to share their conversations through various channels like social media, email, and more. And the best part? The person receiving the link can continue the conversation!

This feature is available to all users, whether they are using the free or paid version of ChatGPT. Right now, Shared Links can be used on the ChatGPT website, and soon, it will be available on the iOS app too. So, if you want to share your ChatGPT chats with others, this new feature will make the process super easy.

Here’s how you can use Shared Links to share your ChatGPT chats:

  1. Start a New Chat: Log in to your ChatGPT account and start a new chat by clicking on “New Chat.”
  2. Find the Chat: On the left side of the ChatGPT dashboard, find the chat you want to share. Look for the Share icon and click on it.
  3. Preview the Conversation: A preview of the conversation will appear. Take a moment to review it before sending it.
  4. Modify the Title (Optional): If you want to change the conversation title, click on the pencil icon next to the automatically generated title.
  5. Personalize the Share (Optional): You can choose to share the chat with your name by clicking on the three dots and selecting “Share your name.” Or you can choose to share it anonymously.
  6. Copy the Link: Once you’ve made the desired settings, click on “Copy Link.” Now, you’re all set to share the chat link with your friends, colleagues, or collaborators.

Remember, any conversations that happen after you’ve shared the link won’t automatically update on the public link. So, if you want to share the latest content, you’ll need to re-share the link.

How to Delete or Block Shared Links

If you want to stop others from accessing the shared links, you can delete them. Here’s how:

  1. Click on your name at the bottom-left of the page.
  2. From the menu, select “Settings.”
  3. In the Data Controls section, select “Manage.” You’ll see a list of your shared links.
  4. To remove specific shared links, click on the Trash icon next to each one. If you want to delete all shared links at once, click on the ellipses (…) and follow the prompts.

It’s important to note that deleting the link makes it inaccessible to others. However, if someone has already engaged in the conversation on their own ChatGPT account, deleting the link won’t affect them.
